Memory

The Chalice

A Garden House
An experiment in projection. The image of the house is projected on handmade paper, then re-photographed. I loved doing this work, perhaps I'll return to it someday.

Beauty
Reading Facino, von Schelling, Scarry, Dufrenne, Cousins, Davis, Clark, Kant, Sontag; I spent the majority of my graduate studies trying to uncover the nature of beauty. These are a few of my explorations of beauty, before I read these thinkers. Would I make these again, knowing what I now know? Yes!

Myth
The word 'myth' has taken on diminished meaning in today's English, often equated with 'untrue'. I want to call attention to the deeper truths of mythology that sometimes get lost in our hyper-scientific age.

Wounds
I have a scar on my torso, a remembrance of my near infant mortality. Digital on canvas, ripped, sewn together with twine & wax, autopsy needles left hanging. Do these Wounds have anything to do with my scar? Probably.

Myth

Icons
Traditional icon maker refer to their process as 'writing', rather than painting. I wrote these images in a flurry of activity in 2007.
